Santiago Ortiz interviewed by Greg Smith

hipercontrol_3.jpg“Last week I posted an involved review of Santiago Ortiz’s 6pli project. I was really captivated by the manner in which this application allowed for the navigation of a link database through the social bookmarking service del.icio.us. Santiago and I exchanged a few emails and I decided he would be an ideal first participant in a new series of interviews which will be published here on Serial Consign over the coming months. A member of the Barcelona based Bestiario collective, Santiago is currently based in Lisbon. Over the last several years Santiago has developed an impressive portfolio of imaginative and dynamic software art which explores a number of contemporary paradigms. I first found out about his work through the Sound and Energy suite of “interface instruments” which includes the delightful Sound Sticky Elastical Structure … Santiago has been kind enough to talk about his work, so without further ado…” Continue reading at Serial Consign.

Jealous of your Avatar?

jealous.jpgWelcome to Woman in her 50s’ Anatomy On-line, the place for interactive and educational views of the woman in her 50s’ body. It is Regina Pinto’s new work, a book of 14 plates where she worked with photos and movies of her own body, all of them done by the artist (except the movie “Twist Again”). It can be a little bit depressive but has much sense of humor. I would like to receive your comments about it.

Keywords: Woman in her 50s, Body, Avatar, Second Life, Anatomy, Health, Finitude, Red, Black, Twist Again.

Requires: Flash player & Quicktime, the better resolution is 1024 X 768 and it is working very well in Firefox. Only one of the files is very big - the Quicktime which has +- 7 MB, the other files are all less than 1 MB.
