Art \ live, 2012

Art \ live, 2012 — Performance by Ela Rosen, Ron Vinter and Avi Rosen — A tribute to Art / Life 1983 -1984 performance by Linda Montano and Tehching Hsieh:

During the year they were tied together by a 8 feet rope, the artists avoided any contact or talking each other. Artists ‘Aura’ is upgraded to ‘Cyber-Aura’ of a Cyber-Flaneur digitally united with global surfers. The communication cable is metaphor for worldwide social, physical, genetic, cultural, and geographic rhizome. Continue reading

Sortir de l’écran / Spoken Screen

Agence TOPO, a Montreal-based artist-run centre for new media, launches a new call for projects for its series Sortir de l’écran / Spoken Screen. This program, initiated in 2007 with the NT2 Lab (University of Quebec in Montréal), presents (hyper)media works that incorporate a performative aspect and which explore the links between the screen and the off-screen space: poetry readings and interpretations, participative performances, interactive devices, etc.

For its coming editions, Agence TOPO will consider proposals of works comprising a narrative and performative dimension that fosters visual, audio and textual exploration, both in its physical and on-screen aspects. Continue reading

Life, life itself… is the absolute art!

When Yves Klein pronounced these words for the first time they were highly provocative. Not only did they undermined conventional notions of art, they also anticipated all those artistic strategies which expanded, to the highest extent, the boundaries of art.
