elisa_sharon7.jpgSharon Cheslow and Coterie Exchange’s Sonic Triptych III :: June 9, 7:30 - 9:30 pm :: TELIC Arts Exchange, 975 Chung King Road, Los Angeles, CA 90012 :: 213.344.6137 :: info[at]telic.info :: $5 or donation.

Sharon Cheslow’s Sonic Triptych III is a sound event for multiple, random sets of 3 performers situated in a triptych - left, center, right - and interwoven like a round. Performers are instructed to represent themselves through sound-producing actions of their choice as a means of facilitating participatory and collaborative action. Previous versions of Sonic Triptych were presented at Illuminated Corridor (2006) and Ladyfest Bay Area (2002). This will be its Los Angeles premiere.

Sharon Cheslow is a musician and sound/visual artist whose works have been presented across the US and Europe in parking lots, art spaces, clubs, museums, galleries, warehouses, concert halls, homes, publications, and on the labels Kill Rock Stars and Decomposition among others.

Participants will include: Eva Aguila - electronics; Ori Barel - laptop; Sharon Cheslow - oscillator, blender, voice, hands; Aaron Drake - flute and/or microphone; John Hastings - guitar, objects; David Kendall - harmonium, modular synthesizer; Steve Kim - radio, electronics; Grace Lee - voice, trumpet and/or recorder; Eric Lindley - voice; Brian Miller - electronics; Anna Oxygen - voice, electronics; Michael Parker - eyelids; Sara Roberts - earbees handheld loop recorders; Bita Sharif - laptop; Dean Spunt - drums and/or voice.

TELIC Arts Exchange is a platform for events and discussion. With an emphasis on social exchange, interactivity, and public participation, we set out to produce a critical engagement with new media and culture. TELIC Arts Exchange is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

This event is made possible in part with the generous support of The Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts.
