Live Stage: Anoxia [

Anoxia, a one-room environment by Jesse Kaminsky and Dirk Adams :: Ark, 17 Edinboro St #3, Boston (Chinatown) :: January 19, 2008; 6 pm-aamm
Anoxia is a sculptural installation, a one-room environment made of cardboard, balloons, string, LEDs and a three channel sound collage. The visual elements interact with each other sonically, and activate the space in a way similar to a live performance. As a temporary installation, the sculptures will live for only one night. Envisioned by Jesse Kaminsky and Mobius Artists Group member Dirk Adams, Anoxia, meaning “without oxygen” and refers to a condition of oxygen deprivation that affects both humans and bodies of water alike.
The exhibition will be followed by music and sound by Gang Clan Mafia (Mobius Artists Group members Vela Phelan and Dirk Adams) and other acts to be announced.
About Mobius: Mobius, founded by Marilyn Arsem in 1977, is known for incorporating a wide range of the visual, performing, and media arts into innovative live performance, video, installation and intermedia works. Mobius has produced hundreds of original works that have attained critical acclaim in Boston, nationally and internationally. Works created at Mobius have been presented throughout the North and South America, Europe and Asia.
Ark is an ongoing series of performances and visual art events in Boston’s Chinatown.
