For January, {R}ake stays close to its roots. We’ve paired-up musicians and video-artists who haven’t formally collaborated together to present a night of truly improvisational multimedia performances. Josh Ott brings his realtime 3D video-drawings to play against Charles Cohen’s and Hair Loss’ noisy analog electronics; Audrey Chen brings a her cello / vocals-based electro-acoustic music to play against Richard Garet’s sometimes ambient, sometimes electrically-charged video; and the estimable DJ Olive brings his prototypical vino-electronics to play against the often - interactive / often - something - new video of Dan Winckler.

{R}ake is a performance series of alternative and collaborative electro-acoustic music and video. Performances range from pure improvisation to more structured pieces, with video-artists and musicians working together in exploratory ways.

Monkey Town serves dinner during the show, so come hungry.
