NYC]
WHITNEY LIVE - Composer’s Showcase: Nick Didkovsky :: February 15, 2008; 7 pm :: The Whitney Museum of American Art, Lower Gallery (at 75th St and Madison Ave) NYC :: Free admission ::
The performance will open with “Tube Mouth Bow String” for string quartet, talkboxes, and live electronics, performed by the invincible *Sirius String Quartet.* Followed by a set of music by avant-rock power trio *BONE* (Nick Didkovsky gtr / Hugh Hopper bass / John Roulat drums) Finishing with a set by the uncanny and incorruptible *Doctor Nerve* with special guest Ben Herrington of Meridian Arts Ensemble on trombone (!)
Composer, guitarist, and computer programmer Nick Didkovsky joins the furious energy of rock with intricate composition. His unique fingerprint is his non-didactic approach to combining human and machine creativity, pushing the boundaries of rock, algorithmic composition, and contemporary classical systems.
