Krewe Coumbite is a sonic instrument of study in Black and Indigenous Diasporas ecology and vernacular rhythms documented from 1940s til current. The work focuses specifically on vernacular of cultural musings expressed in: noise, chants, stories, lullabies, narratives around naming, Cultural sayings/proverbs/recipes, and in working-class rituals such as public transit, migration, service work, and in community gatherings. Call for Projects: Mobile Audio Fest [fr France]

audio_mobile_fest2014.pngLocus Sonus/e-topie Mobile Audio Fest :: October 2015 :: Aix en Provence / Marseille – France :: Call for Projects – Deadline: December 7, 2014 at midnight.

Mobile Audio Fest is a presentation of audio artworks in which mobility is central. The fest will be organized as a series of ‘rendezvous’, each specifically adapted to a piece. These RVs might be online, in the street, on the radio, in a concert hall; they might involve downloading an app, walking with headphones, sleeping out in a tent or driving in a car. The Mobile Audio Fest is presented in continuum with Locus Sonus’ research program Audio Mobility. The 2013-14 program resulted in essentially theoretical and documentary material, presented during the Locus Sonus Symposium #8 held in April 2014. Continue reading

  • The behavior of all particles is contingent on the presence of a conscious observer.
  • Our internal and external perceptions are inextricably connected.
  • Reality is the perpetual enfolding/unfolding of autopoiesis (self-making), in relationship with others and our environment.
