Workspace Residency [us NYC]

space1.jpgLMCC is excited to announce the Open Call for the 2008-2009 Workspace Artist Residency:: 2008-2009 Residency Dates: Tuesday, September 9, 2008 - Friday, May 22, 2009 :: Deadline for application submission is 5 PM THURSDAY, MAY 15, 2008 :: Applications ware being accepted now.

The 2008-2009 Workspace Residency will be located on the 29th floor of 120 Broadway in the Financial District. The program offers free studio space for 9 months, a small stipend and access to a community of peers and experts as well as exposure to new audiences at public programs like the final Open Studio Weekend.

Workspace is open to emerging and early-career professional artists working in all disciplines including Drawing, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Film/Video, Installation/Mixed Media, Sound, Performance and New Media/Computer Arts. Continue reading

Call for Sound:Space 2008 [uk Bracknell]

ss2008web.jpgSound:Space - Call for Submissions:An exciting opportunity has risen to exhibit at Atrium and the Atrium Projection Space at South Hill Park (Ringmead, Bracknell RG12 7PA, United Kingdom) as part of the Sound:Space season on 20 September – 9 November 2008. We invite proposals from visual and digital artists exploring the field of sound art and the representation of sound. We welcome proposals for both moving image/sound and wall-based work.

The Atrium is one of our busiest exhibition spaces and is used by a wide range of South Hill Park visitors. The space also combines a café and a lounge area and we are particularly interested in site-specific works for the space.

Open Ear - Cardiff: Call for Works

web_flyer.jpgOpen Ear - Cardiff :: June 13, 2008 :: Call for Works - Open Ear is a loose collaborative group formed in 2006 by Paul Adams, Garrett Lynch and Matt Wright with the purpose of creating audio-visual art and organising live events within club, gallery, open air or site-specific venues.

On June 13 2008, Open Ear will host a free one night only event of experimental work in the ATRiuM Theatre at the University of Glamorgan’s newly built ATRiuM, Cardiff School of Creative & Cultural Industries, Cardiff, Wales. Curated by Garrett Lynch the event will present a series of interdisciplinary performances and projections by various artists. Sound and visual artists / groups working across the areas of art, music, media and new technologies within live performance / projected contexts are invited to contribute to this event under an open theme. Netrooms: The Long Feedback is a participatory network piece which invites the public to contribute to an extended feedback loop and delay line across the internet. The work explores the juxtaposition of multiple spaces as the acoustic, the social and the personal environment becomes permanently networked. Netaudio: Call for Entries [uk London]

141.jpgNetaudio, the Offline Festival for Online Music comes back to London after a great festival in Berlin in 2007: Netaudio’08 will take place from October 22 to 25 at Shunt, a extensive labyrinth of tunnels underneath London Bridge Station. Over four nights we will celebrate the creative output of networked musicians and online communities with talks, workshops, showcases and performances.

Parts of Netaudio’08 will be programmed through an open call for entries. With this call we would like to give you the chance to put our attention to your creative activities related to the festival theme.
